Central Point pounded 16 base hits and righthander Bryce Crawford pitched a complete game seven-hitter as the Comets upended Roseburg Pepsi 9-3 in an opening round game of the single-A American Legion baseball state tournament in Eugene.
The Bottlecaps (19-7) scored first on an RBI single from Darin Nelson and would add another run to take a 2-0 lead after two innings.
The Comets (25-10) tied the game in the third inning; and went ahead for good with three runs in the fourth.
Roseburg leftfielder Tyson Dahl had three hits, including an RBI double.
Pepsi takes on Salem in an elimination game Friday moring at 9:00.
