Priestley Leads Indians to Second-Round Win |

Roseburg pounded out 17 hits in an 18-5 win over Newberg during a second round game of the OSAA Class 6A baseball state playoffs Wednesday afternoon at Legion Field.
Righthander Jared Priestley struck out seven batters over seven innings to earn the victory. The junior also hit a three-run homer for the Indians.
Mike Morin added a two-run blast and Cody Watkins had four hits as Roseburg improved to 19-5 on the season.
Elsewhere, Douglas beat Scappoose 11-4; Glide's game with Cascade Christian was postponed; Stanfield upended North Douglas 4-3; Umpqua Valley Christian was beaten by Heppner 11-6; and Days Creek lost to Union 9-1.
Roseburg beat conference rival Crater 8-3 to advance into the 6A softball quarterfinals; 4A Sutherlin had its season come to an end with a 4-2 extra inning loss to Madras; 3A Glide remained unbeaten with a 6-1 win over Nyssa; 2A Glendale downed Knappa 10-0; Yoncalla beat Central Linn 5-3; and North Douglas was eliminated by Butte Falls 5-4.
