Bruins Claw South Umpqua in FWL Clash |

Brookings-Harbor stopped South Umpqua's bid to wrap-up second place in the Far West League. Chandler Gottfried scored 15 points in the Bruins 59-52 win over the Lancers (6-2, 15-6) in a boys basketball game Friday night at Chetco Federal Credit Union Pavillion in Brookings.
SU's Austin Page had a game-high 18 points and senior Cameron Reese added 13 points in the loss.
In Roseburg, the Indians dropped a Southern Oregon Conference game to North Medford 58-40 as senior guard Derek Mautz scored 29 points for the visitors.
The Indians trailed 21-8 at the end of the first quarter but battled back to within six poins at halftime, 31-25. Roseburg couldn't keep pace in the second half as the Black Tornado pulled away for the 18-point victory. Carson Reid scored eight points to lead the indians.
The South Umpqua girls made the most of their trip erasing an 18-point fourth quarter deficit to beat the Bruins 58-55 in overtime. Freshman Olivia Gulliford led the Lancers with 20 points, while teammates Bri Bohnenkamp and Rory Petterson combined for 19 points in the come-from-behind win.
