Sutherlin's Kyle Jaukkuri has been named the Far West League's 'most valuable player' for the 2011 season.

The senior catcher helped guide the Bulldogs to a 14-10 record and a trip to the Class 4A state playoffs.

Six other local baseball players joined Jaukkuri on the FWL's first team. They included South Umpqua's Austin Marsh (P); Colton Pringle (1B); and Josh Kennedy (OF); along with Douglas High's Tyson Dahl (IF); Dontea Escalante (OF); and Ricky Cortes (U).
