Glide catcher Alexa Skinner has been named the 3A softball 'Player of the year' after helping guide the Wildcats to the 2010 state championship game.
The junior hit .494 with three home runs and 25 RBI's, including a team-leading 12 doubles and 16 stolen bases.
"Alexa brought a lot more to the team than just her stats and we wouldn't have gotten to the title game without her," head coach Julie VanDeHey said. "She's a super gutsy kid that called all of the pitches and ran every game from behind the plate."
Two other Wildcats made the first-team including junior pitcher Marissa Duarte (17-3, 0.53 era) and sophomore McKenzie Shrum (.377 avg and 25 stolen bases).
Sophomore Kelsey Jefferies (41 runs scored and 21 stolen bases) was a second-team selection.
