Indians Ready for Postseason Run

roseburgrun.jpgRoseburg is one of five county football teams in action this weekend during the opening round of the OSAA state playoffs.

The Indians (7-2) will host Lakeridge (6-4) Friday night at Finlay Field. RHS finished in third place in Special District 1 behind top-ranked Sheldon and South Medford and enter the postseason as a number three seed.

The sixth-seeded Lakers ended up fifth in the Three Rivers League and had to beat Glencoe in a play-in game last week to earn a spot in the playoffs.

There's one other local team playing Friday night as #3 Douglas (7-3) is at home with #6 Stayton (5-3) in a 4A playoff game in Winston.

There are a pair of 2A playoff games on Saturday as unbeaten and #2 Oakland (9-0) hosts #7 Enterprise (5-3) at 1:00PM; and #8 North Douglas (3-6) plays #1 Gold Beach (9-0) in a 2:00PM game at Marshfield High School in Coos Bay.

In the 1A playoffs, top-seeded Camas Valley (10-0) entertains #8 Joseph (5-4) at 1:00PM.
