North Bend Stops South Umpqua
basketball_stock.jpgThe South Umpqua boys basketball team had its nine-game winning steak come to an end Friday night with a 72-49 loss to North Bend.

The eighth-ranked Bulldogs (5-0, 16-2) jumped out to a 10-0 lead and never trailed enroute to the 23 point victory. The win also put North Bend is sole possession of first place in the Far West League.

Senior Cameron Reese scored a game-high 25 points; and freshman Erik Johnson added 11 points for the Lancers (4-1, 13-5).  

Riddle standout Pele Gianotti poured-in 35 points to lead the Irish (9-1, 15-3) to a 52-38 win over North Douglas (7-3, 14-5) in a girls Mountain View Conference game.
