Roseburg Continues Winning Ways at State Tournament |

Jered Stoffal singled home Vince Ampi with the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift Roseburg Dr. Stewart's to a 6-5 victory over Canby at the 'AAA' American Legion baseball state tournament Wednesday afternoon in Corvallis.
The Docs (19-16) jumped out to a 2-0 first inning lead when Bo Younker hit a two-run homer off pitcher Adam Bell. Roseburg stretched the advantage to 4-1 before Canby plated (19-12) three runs in the top of the seventh inning and a single run in the eighth to take a 5-4 lead. Dr. Stewart's scored a run in the eighth to tie the score at 5-5 and won it in the ninth on Stoffal's base hit.
Righthander Brandon Jackson pitched seven innings and gave up four runs on eight hits and did not take part in the decision. Bo Younker pitched one inning in relief and got the win for Roseburg.
The Docs take on Area 4 champion Medford Thursday afternoon at 4:00PM.
