South Umpqua Wins Seventh Straight Game

c_reese.jpgSouth Umpqua erased a 12-point halftime deficit and beat Douglas 63-54 in a Far West League boys basketball game Friday night in Winston.

Freshman Erik Johnson hit five three-pointers and finished with 18 points; and teammate Cameron Reese scored 11 of his 13 points in the third quarter to lead the Lancers (2-0, 11-4) to their seventh consecutive win.

The Trojans held a 27-15 lead at the break, but were outscored 24-8 in the third quarter.

Trevon Daniels led the Trojans (0-2, 2-14) with 15 points.
