Trojans, Indians in Top Ten

15catch.jpgTwo Douglas County teams were selected in the latest Associated Press top ten high school football polls.

Roseburg (5-2) dropped two spots to number seven in the Class 6A rankings following a 31-7 loss to top-ranked Sheldon. Douglas (5-2) moved from ninth to eighth in the Class 4A poll after its 58-0 win over South Umpqua.

The Irish (70) stayed atop the 6A poll ahead of Lake Oswego (62); South Medford (54); Tigard (52); Jesuit (34); West Linn (27); Roseburg (25); Central Catholic (22); Lakeridge (15); and Tualatin (14).

Central (7-0) is still first in Class 4A in front of Siuslaw (6-0); North Bend (7-0); La Salle Prep (7-0); Elmira (6-1); Astoria (6-1); Banks (5-1); Douglas (5-2); Gladstone (6-1); Baker (4-2) and Sweet Home (4-2) are tied for tenth.

Marist (7-0) remained number one in Class 5A, just three points ahead of Sherwood (7-0).
