Yoncalla High School Drops to Class 1A |
|
Yoncalla High School will move down a classification beginning with the 2012-13 school year.
On December 5, the OSAA Executive Board voted to approve the request for the Eagles' athletic programs to drop from the 2A Mountain View Conference to the 1A Skyline League.
The Yoncalla football team will be placed in Special District 5, while Douglas County's other 1A football programs, Camas Valley and Elkton, will remain in Special District 2.
Two other notable moves have Crow High School also leaving the MVC to join the 1A Mountain West League; and Myrtle Point is dropping from Class 3A to Class 2A, but will remain in the Sunset Hybrid.
