A familiar name will be etched on the 2016 OSAA 4A girls basketball championship trophy.

Sutherlin defeated Cascade 45-40 Saturday night at Liberty High School and captured its third consecutive state title.

Senior Kayce Mock scored a game-high 25 points and pulled down 11 rebounds and junior Taylor Stricklin added 10 points for the Bulldogs.

The top-ranked Cougars held a three-point lead at halftime, but Sutherlin (27-1) outscored Cascade 14-6 in the third quarter to take a 35-30 lead.

The Bulldogs finished the season with a 22-game winning streak.
