160322 South Umpqua softballMEDFORD, Ore. -- The South Umpqua and Glide softball teams continued play at the Medford Spring Break Tournament Tuesday at US Cellular Park.

The Wildcats brought out the bats for two wins over their opponents, scoring 31 total runs throughout the day.

In the first game Glide defeated Lost River 10-9 and followed up with a 21-9 victory over Etna, CA in the late game.

The Lady Cats (4-2 overall) continue non-league play with a doubleheader at North Douglas on April 2.

Also in Medford, the South Umpqua softball squad fell to Elmira 20-4. The Lancers were scheduled to play Klamath Union in a late Tuesday game.

SU will next host Sutherlin on Monday, March 28.

In baseball action, South Umpqua swept Cascade Christian in a non-league twin bill, 13-2 and 7-1.

Glide fell to Burns 12-8 and Glendale's game against East Linn Christian was postponed Tuesday. The Wildcats bounced back with a 17-0 win over Willamina Thursday.
