ROSEBURG, Ore. -- Two Roseburg based flag football teams are taking to the field this spring and the organization is looking for more players to form more teams.

The teams participate in the Man^ and Woman^ (Man-Up & Woman-Up) flag football organization. So far, player ages range from 16 (with parental consent) to 55.

The Roseburg Honeybadgers play in the men's league while Roseburg Strong represents the local women's squad.

Brothers Beau and Joe True are the Honeybadgers' team captains.

Roseburg Strong's captains are Meaghan Monroe, Ashley Pittam and Justine Rhines.

In the most recent Oregon Flag Tournament League polls, Roseburg Strong is ranked 6th and the Honeybadgers 9th.

The local teams hope to fully form the Umpqua Valley Flag Football League for future seasons, which would feature teams from the Douglas County area. League officials say an additional two-to-three men's and women's 8-player teams will need to be formed to make that happen.

In the meantime, the Roseburg teams play in the Northern Oregon Flag Football League, which includes teams from Eugene, Salem, Bend and Grants Pass.

League play begins April 3.
