Local baseball and softball continues throughout spring break for local high school teams.

At the Grant Union Tournament, Oakland took a close 5-4 win over Joseph early Saturday. Junior Kyto Anderson ended the game with an infield single to score the winning run.

You can see video of the final play at the Oakland Baseball Facebook page. Oakland then fell to tourney host Grant Union 6-4 later in the day.

Friday, the Oakers suffered a 5-0 loss to Sherman County.

In other Friday baseball, Glendale knocked off county rival North Douglas 6-2 in a non-league contest. Glide defeated Willamina Thursday 17-0.

In prep softball Friday, Douglas played two non-league games, beating Yamhill-Carlton 11-3 and falling to Elmira 6-1.

North Douglas downed Colton 5-3.
