ROSEBURG, Ore. -- For the first time in fourteen years motocrossers in Roseburg geared up for a competitive race on Easter Sunday.

Sunday's event organizer is seeking to reignite the flame of a once locally popular sport.

"I raced here growing up for ten years,” race organizer Clayton Schuyler told KPIC News. “My son is thirteen and I wanted him to race in the same place. We don't have anything like this in Southern Oregon."

Racers of all ages took part in the event.

Schuyler says it's all about getting the kids outside for an unforgettable experience.

"You feel weightless when you're up there on top of the world. There's not a better feeling than clearing a big jump."
