Roseburg beat Grants Pass 2-1 in the Southwest Conference opener Tuesday afternoon at Legion Field.

Chris Stone struck out 11 Cavemen; Will Reddekopp knocked in both runs on a pair of sacrifice flies; and Zack Watkins had a perfect game at-the-plate going 3-for-3.

The Indians are 1-0 in conference and 2-3 overall, while Grants Pass falls to 0-1 in the SWC and 4-1 on the season.

In softball, North Douglas (1-0, 3-2) opened its league season with an 11-1 victory over Oakridge.
