SALEM, Ore. -- The Douglas County Timberwolves adult football team battled hard but came up short in a 32-30 loss to the Willamette Valley Crusaders Saturday at Salem Academy.

The Wolves fell to 1-4 on the season.

The Crusaders avenged an earlier loss to the Timberwolves with the victory.

Douglas County takes on the Benton Bulldogs in their next contest on Saturday, April 9, at Cottage Grove High School.

The Timberwolves play in the National Nineman Football League, an Oregon-based, veteran owned, private entity, providing young men the opportunity to continue playing the game. It has been operating for 14 years, according to the league website.
