All but one Douglas County softball team playing Friday afternoon won a game.

In the Far West League, Douglas had no trouble with Brookings-Harbor in a 14-0, 16-2 sweep of the Bruins.

South Umpqua lost a close first game against North Bend, 4-3. Chanel Stewart was 3-for-3 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI.

In the second game the Lancer bats came alive. Freshman Kalie Mann smacked two homers and picked up 5 RBI to lead SU to a 10-3 win. Senior Alexis Westbrooks also homered in the game and picked up the pitching win in a combined effort with Tayah Kelley.

Mann already has 5 home runs this season.

Elsewhere, Oakland defeated Monroe in a 1-0 pitcher's duel and Reedsport crushed Siletz Valley 15-4.

In baseball, Douglas, Glide and Reedsport each picked up a win on Friday.
