PORTLAND, Ore. -- A Sutherlin High School graduate continuing her athletic career in college has been honored at the conference level.

Concordia University sophomore Christina MacDonald was named Field Athlete of the Week by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference this week.

MacDonald won the hammer at the John Knight Twilight with a throw of 164 feet, the second best mark in the GNAC this season.

She then went on to finish second in the javelin with a toss of 147 feet, 6 inches, which is fifth best in the GNAC this season.

MacDonald is a 2013 graduate of Sutherlin High School.
