ROSEBURG, Ore. -- It wasn't easy for the Roseburg baseball team but the Indians managed to pick up two victories in thrilling fashion Saturday.

Following a close 3-2 win over Thurston in the opener, Roseburg trailed 6-0 in the nightcap before storming back to take an 8-7 victory in 9 innings.

                            

With the sweep Roseburg improved to 7-2 in the Southwest Conference and 8-5 overall.

Roseburg players and fans got a scare in the second game when senior outfielder Chance Beecher took a baseball to the face while attempting to bunt.

                            

The high and inside pitch appeared to ricochet off his bat with no chance for Beecher to avoid the collision.

After a short time with the team trainer on the field, Beecher was able to stand and walk off on his own.

In the bottom of the 9th, Roseburg's Treven Jacks singled up the middle with runners on base.

As Cam Lierman made his way to third base, the Thurston centerfielder bobbled the ball and stumbled trying to collect himself, allowing Lierman to continue home and score the winning run.

                            

Roseburg players stormed the field in celebration.

Up next, the Indians travel to South Medford Tuesday to take on the Panthers.
