RENO, Nev. -- Day one is finished for the Volleyball West 12-Black club volleyball team at the NCVA 2016 National Qualifier in Reno, Nevada Saturday, and it was a successful day on the court.
The team finished first in its pool and won its bracket, finishing the day with a 2-1 record.
In their first match, Volleyball West came back from a first-game loss to defeat Rock Bertha, 22-25, 25-19, 15-12.
In match number two, West fell to Absolute Pink 8-25, 25-22, 15-10.
In the third and final match of the day, West defeated Red Rock in straight sets, 25-11, 25-14.
The club is currently seeded 18th in their division.
They will resume play Sunday with matches at 8 a.m., 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.

Based in Yoncalla, Volleyball West offers a club experience for county players outside Roseburg. In three years the club has grown from a single team with seven players to five teams and 43 club members. This included merging with the Sutherlin Volleyball Club in the program's second year.
