DRAIN, Ore. -- The North Douglas softball team proved victorious in a see-saw battle, notching an 8-7 win over visiting Kennedy in 9 innings Saturday in Drain.

North Douglas seniors Abigail Bowen and Lauren Davidge each homered to help lift the Warriors (9-1 Special District 3, 13-4 overall) to victory.

In the bottom of the 9th, Heaven Morgan tapped a fielder's choice grounder that was enough to score Payton Black from third for the winning run.

Morgan picked up the win for the Warriors in relief of starting pitcher Kalli Frieze.

North Douglas is in 1st place in the conference, one game ahead of north county rival Oakland. They travel to Mohawk on Tuesday.
