160502 Molly Lavin-Williams first home runWINSTON, Ore. -- Molly Lavin-Williams hit her first career home run for Douglas as the Trojans clinched the Far West League title with a doubleheader sweep over second-place South Umpqua Monday in Winston.

Douglas won the opener 6-0 and took the nightcap 15-5.

Lavin-Williams' home run was one of many round-trippers for the Trojans Monday.

Darian Mitchell, Sahara Johnson and Taylor Holcomb also blasted homers for Douglas, which improved to 11-0 in the Far West League and 16-3 overall.

Douglas hosts Siuslaw Tuesday, then travels to Marshfield for a Friday doubleheader.

South Umpqua fell to 7-4 in FWL play and 14-8 overall.

The Lancers are tied in the standings with Marshfield; the two teams are scheduled for a single game Tuesday in Coos Bay at 5 p.m., weather permitting.
