LOWELL, Ore. -- As the regular season winds down for local baseball and softball teams, local players are looking forward to the postseason, including those of Special District 3 champion North Douglas.

The Warriors scored 20 runs Wednesday in a 20-0 shutout over Lowell on the road.

Junior Nikki Toy hit a grand slam home run to lead North's offensive attack; she finished 5-for-5 at the plate with 8 RBI,

The Warriors capped Special District 3 off with a nearly perfect 13-1 record are 19-4 overall.

On Saturday, North Douglas will play a non-league doubleheader against Bonanza, the Special District 4 champ (10-4 league, 14-5 overall) in a tune-up for the playoffs.

Meanwhile, Oakland finished off the regular season in 2nd place behind the Warriors with an 11-3 Special District 3 record (20-5 overall). The Oakers knocked off Yoncalla Wednesday (8-6, 13-7) 20-8.

The Eagles finish the regular season in 4th place in the conference.

In class 6A, Roseburg notched an 11-1 victory over Willamette.
