PROSPECT, Ore. -- The 10th-seeded North Douglas baseball squad whipped up on 7th-seeded Prospect Wednesday, notching a 14-2 first-round victory in the OSAA 2A/1A playoffs.

The Warriors move on to the quarterfinals against 2nd-seeded Knappa on Friday.

The Loggers knocked off Oakland 10-4 in their first-round game to advance.

The North Douglas and Oakland softball teams both advanced to the quarterfinals following Wednesday wins.

The Warriors defeated Irrigon 8-1 and the Oakers knocked off Gold Beach 7-3.

The other local softball team still alive is Douglas, which beat Crook County on Wednesday to advance.

Reynolds knocked off Roseburg in the in the 6A playoffs.
