160613 DocsHILLSBORO, Ore. -- Roseburg's Dr. Stewart's picked up its first win of the season in extra innings Monday, winning the first game of a road doubleheader against the Portland Barbers.

The Docs took the opener 2-0 in eight innings for their first win of the year.

With no score after seven innings, the Docs' Dustin Eakin singled in the top of the 8th and scored on Shawn Rigsby's double to make it 1-0. Rigsby would later score on a wild pitch.

The Docs' Christian Osborne picked up the win after two innings of work, preserving the shutout following starter Roy Benzel's four scoreless innings and two middle relief innings by Will Reddekopp.

Docs pitchers gave up just two hits in the contest.

In the nightcap, Portland (3-2) scored 7 runs in the second inning and cruised to an 11-4 win to salvage the split.

The Docs managed six hits as Andrew Harrington went 2-for-3. Cam Lierman doubled and had 2 RBIs; Chris Stone and Tommy Ghasedi also doubled.

The Barbers swatted 11 hits against Roseburg pitching in the contest.

Up next the Docs (1-2) host Grants Pass on Wednesday for an Area-4 League doubleheader at 6 p.m.

In single-A legion baseball Monday, Roseburg's Pepsi Bottlecaps were swept by South Medford in Roseburg.
