JUNCTION CITY, Ore. -- A South Umpqua summer softball team of players aged 16 and under have returned home after winning a tournament title over the weekend.

SU defeated Surfside, Calif. 8-7 in the championship game of the Donald Duck Birthday Tournament in Junction City.

Kalie Mann smashed four home runs and Cheyenne Datan had two for the Lancer summer squad. The two hit back-to-back homers twice throughout the tournament.

Pitcher Tayah Kelley picked up two wins to lead the team to a 4-1 record and the tournament title.

The team is made up of 9 players from the South Umpqua program, along with three North Bend players, two from Glendale and one from Douglas.
