DC Fastpitch, a 16-and-under summer softball team, has been on a roll lately with players representing six different high schools, including a few from out-of-county.
After the Douglas County-based team scored 3rd and 2nd place finishes in their first couple of tournaments, they've gone on a winning streak, taking the tourney title in their last two outings.
DC went 5-0 at the NAFA UFO on June 25-26, defeating Bonanza 11-0, the Lady Outlaws 14-1, Aloha 13-2, McMinville 9-6 and Bonanza again in the title game 11-2.
The Firecracker Open, which was held July 2-3, began with a loss to the Oregon Lightning 10-5. But DC bounced back, winning their next four games.
They defeated the AIA Athletics twice and notched wins over the Voodoo Dolls to reach the championship where they avenged the earlier loss with a an 11-10 win over Oregon Lightning in extra innings.
In fact, all three games on Sunday ended via the International Tiebreaker rule with DC Fastpitch prevailing in all three.

This year's team features local players from Douglas, Glide, South Umpqua and Sutherlin. Coquille and Siuslaw are each represented with a player as well.
