BOISE, Idaho -- The Roseburg Renegades 16U Junior State baseball team had a successful opening day at the Firecracker Invitational in Boise Thursday.
The Renegades turned up the heat and woke up the bats against the Boise Senators in a 15-3 win.
The game ended after 5 innings due to the 10-run mercy rule.
"We put the pressure on the Senators and forced some errors," Roseburg coach Tim Sustaire said. "The boys did a good job putting the ball in play."
The Renegades continue play Friday at 11:45 a.m. against Rocky Mountain and then play a late 8 p.m. game with the Boise Capitals.
