GRANTS PASS, Ore. -- Roseburg's Umpqua Lions paved their way to the playoffs with a sweep over the Grants Pass Diggers Tuesday night at Reinhart Volunteer Park.

The Lions (11-3 Area 4 North, 13-15 overall) took the opener 9-4 behind a complete-game performance from Bailey Johnson.

Trevor Mehlhoff had a 2-RBI single and scored a run; Kyler Leischner smacked an RBI double and scored twice.

Mehlhoff had 3 RBIs in the nightcap to lead the Lions to a 12-5 victory.

The sweep solidified Umpqua's 2nd-place standing in the conference.

The Lions finish off the regular season with a doubleheader against rival Roseburg Pepsi (13-1 league, 19-8 overall), the league leader.
