SANDY, Ore. -- The Roseburg Dr. Stewart's lost a close game to Gresham in the best-of-three opener Friday at Sandy High School in Sandy.

Gresham edged the Docs 2-1 to take the first game of the Super Regional.

Game 2 takes place at noon Saturday in Sandy.

If the Docs win that do-or-die game, the thrid and final game will be played immediately after.

The winner advances to the state tournament in Salem.

The Docs finished 9-11 in the Area 4 League and earned a berth into the playoffs following the Klamath Falls' disqualification from post-season play for using ineligible players.
