ROSEBURG, Ore. -- The Roseburg boy's soccer team kicked off the 2016 season under new head coach Jim Giraudo, and it was a successful opening night.

The Indians opened with a 4-0 win over visiting Thurston at Roseburg High School's Finlay Field Thursday evening.

Roseburg did most of its scoring in the first half, taking a 3-0 halftime lead.

The Indians (1-0 overall), who play in the Southwest Conference, will travel to West Albany on Tuesday, August 30.

Elsewhere, the Roseburg girls suffered a 4-1 loss at Thurston to open the season.
