South Umpqua is among four local teams set to play their home openers Friday night.

The Lancers will take on North Valley at 7 p.m. in Tri City.

Elsewhere in 4A, Douglas County rivals Douglas and Sutherlin will face off in a non-leaguer on the new turf at Sutherlin High.

In class 6A ball, Roseburg plays host to David Douglas in the Indians' home opener.

Also Friday, Central Linn is at Oakland; Glide travels to county rival Riddle; and Reedsport is at Amity. All these games are 7 p.m. start times.

In 1A eight-man football, Mapleton travels to Elkton for a 4 p.m. kickoff.

Many local 1A teams will take part in an eight-man triple-header in North Bend Saturday.

Camas Valley takes on Yoncalla at 1 p.m. and Days Creek faces North Douglas at 4 p.m.

Powers will play Siletz Valley in the 7 p.m. game.
