The conference football season kicks into high gear across Douglas County Friday night.

Surprising Douglas (2-1) goes after its third consecutive victory of the season when the Trojans open Far West League play at home against Siuslaw (1-2).

Last Friday, Douglas outscored Hidden Valley 46-27.

Elsewhere, South Umpqua (1-2) has its hands full against visiting and 2nd-ranked Marshfield (3-0); Sutherlin (0-3) heads to Sisters (2-1) for its Sky-Em League opener; Days Creek (2-1) is at top-ranked Powers (3-0); Elkton (3-0) hosts Glendale (1-2); North Douglas (1-0, 2-1) welcomes 4th-ranked Lowell (3-0); and Yoncalla (1-0, 1-2) is in McKenzie (0-1, 1-2).

There are three non-league games as Glide (2-1) heads to Myrtle Point (1-2); Oakland (3-0) plays at Bandon (1-2); and Riddle (1-2) travels to Elgin (2-1).

Camas Valley (3-0) hosts Prospect (2-0) in a Special District 2 game on Saturday.
