REDMOND, Ore. -- The North Douglas volleyball team battled hard but fell short in the Class 1A state volleyball championship match Saturday evening at Ridgeville High School in Redmond.

The Warriors (27-4 overall) fell in four sets to top seeded Country Christian. The Cougars (30-2) took the first set 25-17 before North Douglas bounced back for a 25-20 win in the second set. Country Christian would take the next two for the state title 25-20, 25-21.

Elsewhere, Glide fell to Vale 3-1 to take 5th place at the 3A tourney. Hosanna Christian knocked off Days Creek 3-1 in the 1A tournament.
