The Umpqua Community College womens and mens basketball teams will take some time off for the holiday.

Second-ranked UCC (9-1) beat College of the Redwoods 93-51 Sunday afternoon behind a team-high 24 points from Dajanay Powell and 23 from Bria Thames.

The Umpqua men are 5-3 overall losing December 11 to Tacoma 78-62 in the championship game at the Dale Bates Invitational in Eugene.

Both teams are set to play tournament games on December 28.
