OAKLAND, Ore. -- The Glide boy's basketball team is celebrating following a successful holiday-break run.

The Wildcats defeated Bandon 44-29 Thursday night to take first place at the Oakland Christmas Tournament.

Glide (8-5 overall) travels to Rogue River for a final non-league tune-up on January 3.

The host Oakers took third place with a 45-43 win over north county rival North Douglas.

Plenty of other local teams in action Thursday notched victories as well.
