Defense was the name of the game for the Umpqua Community College womens basketball team on Saturday.

Clackamas was held to just 8 points in the first half as UCC rolled to a 65-39 league win over the visiting Cougars.

Jordan Stotler led all scorers with 28 points, Dajanay Powell had 15 and Bria Thames added 13 points.

The 2nd-ranked Riverhawks improved to 5-0 in the South Region and 16-2 overall.

The Umpqua men also won Saturday with a 87-72 victory over Clackamas improving to 4-1 in league and 12-4 on the season.
