TRI CITY, Ore. -- Basketball teams at South Umpqua High School will do their part to help raise awareness of the fight against all forms of cancer during Friday night's basketball games against Siuslaw on February 3.

"Lancers vs. Cancers" is the theme for the Far West League contests against the visiting Vikings.

Games begin at 3 p.m. at SUHS.

"We look forward to the opportunity to help raise awareness of the fight that so many people and their families in our communities have endured," SU Athletic Director Dave Ehrhardt said.

SU players will be adorned in pink socks while coaches will wear "suits and sneakers" on the sidelines.

Fans are asked to wear pink to show their support. Donations will be accepted at the door and forwarded to the American Cancer Society.
