170503 Drain Black Sox courtesy Joe R. BlakelyDRAIN, Ore. -- On Saturday, May 13 at 1 p.m., the North Douglas High School baseball field will be the site of a memorial ceremony taking place to honor the Drain Black Sox, a team that won the 1958 national semi-pro championship in Wichita, Kansas.

Some of the players from that team will be present at the unveiling of the plaque, which will be a permanent fixture at the athletic field in Drain.

After the presentation, the North Douglas High baseball team will don classic Black Sox uniforms and play a scheduled doubleheader against league opponent Lowell.
