Fourth-ranked South Umpqua awaits its first round opponent in the upcoming 4A state playoffs.

The Far West League champions finished 13-2 in conference, 21-2 overall and will host an OSAA postseason game on Wednesday, May 24.

Elsewhere, Roseburg (14-10) travels to West Albany for a 6A playoff game; and the RHS baseball team (14-11) heads to South Salem. 

Both games will be played Monday, May 22. 

The 4A play-in round is set for this week and three Douglas County teams have qualified.

The Trojan boys (13-11) host Valley Catholic on Thursday, May 18; and South Umpqua (11-13) heads to Sweet Home.

The Douglas softballers (9-13) play at Newport on Friday, May 19.
