Nine local athletes competed at this year's OSAA Golf State Championships.

Sutherlin's Matt Black tied for 6th and Jeremiah Scroggins (T15) led the Bulldog boys to a 7th place finish at the 4A tournament at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis.

Rounding out the team are Bowen Briggs, Noah Strempel and Brayden Burdett.

Roseburg senior Cole Dittemore (T9) shot 8-over par to finish in the top 10 at the 6A championships at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks.

RHS freshman Bryce Thomason (T41) also competed at the two-day event.

A pair of Roseburg girls also qualified for the 6A state tournament.

Sophomore Alexandra Sandfort (T42) and freshman Avry Hansen (T52) played 36 holes at Emerald Valley Gold Club in Creswell.

The 2017 OSAA Golf Championships took place May 15-16.
