Nine local cross country runners qualified for this weekend's state championships.
The South Umpqua girls team will compete in the 4A meet Saturday, November 4, at Lane Community College in Eugene.
The team is coached by Taylor Groth and consists of Bethany Kalebaugh, Aneykah McCall, Hasina Lathan, Haven Pickup, Savannah Slay, Jadyn Vermillion and Hayley Woodward.
South Umpqua senior Nakai Sinohui will run in the boys 4A meet.
Roseburg junior Hunter Agsten qualified for the 6A event.
